“Mary’s Room” –A Parent’s Resource for
infants and children up to 24 months. St Paul’s
Church may be small but it is on the cutting edge again with another
outreach effort. Thanks to a little seed money from the Meacham Grant we
are beginning a crèche program. This is an outreach program that will
supply, free of charge, children’s gently used or new clothing, furniture,
packages of diapers, wipes, receiving blankets, bibs and soft toys to area
residents in need. This will be a complimentary program to the WIC food
program, we won’t supply any food or medicine but all the other stuff
including baby bottles and pacifiers that parents find essential but are
not covered by WIC! We are asking the congregation of St Paul’s to find it
in their hearts to add a packet of wipes or diapers to their grocery list
on a routine basis and to add a packet of sleepers or a receiving blanket
to their trip to Shopko or similar shops, and when you are planning that
rummage sale remember Mary’s Room and consider a tax deductible donation
of children’s clothing prior to setting up your rummage table. Mary’s Room
opened September 1, 2011 in the basement (Sweeney Room). We are open twice
weekly, Tuesdays 1:00 to 3:00 and Fridays 10:00 to Noon. VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED! If you have questions/donations/would like to donate an hour or
two of your time please see Alice Mirk
or give her a call at 261-3857.
